1. I circa 800 franchi che si spendono per arrivare a NYC. Spesi troppo bene.
2. L’abbonamento della metro, settimanale (24 dollari)
3. Le cospicue mancie al bar preferito. Prima o poi cominciano a salutare e offrire (per me il Max Fish).
4. I due dollari per il falafel del Mamoun’s. Mangiare e non spendere
5. I 10 dollari per il taxi alle 4 di mattina quando non ti reggi in piedi. Sarà anche sicura come città, ma a quell’ora ubriaco, sei veramente come un 6 al lotto per chiunque si trovi in metropolitana con te.

5. 22th Street e Park Ave, Express, mangiare bene a qualsiasi ora.

1. Pepe Rosso, Sullivan, btw Houston e Prince. Paste e focaccie per meno di 10 dollari: Non solo una sicurezza, ma anche l’italiano qualità prezzo migliore della città.
2. Mamoun’s, 119 McDougal’s Street- Bleeker: Falafel a 2 dollari, serve altro?
3. Whole Foods, Union Square o Columbus Circus: Il supermercato per antonomasia. Tutto in self service, fresco è sano
4. Esquina (203 Lafayette). Da provare.
5. Café Habana, 17 Prince Street and Elizabeth. Il ristorante è sempre pieno. Di fianco il self service per quelli che preferiscono vedere la cena come una pausa necessaria e breve di un lungo aperitivo

3. Dark Room (165 Ludlow- Houston) decisamente dark, decisamente rock. Ci piace tanto
4. Nublu (62 Ave. C btw 4th and 5th) soprattutto per i vivacissimi mercoledi
5. Club HOME (532 W. 27th St. Btw 10 and 11 Ave.). Un club vero e proprio.
6. APT (419 W. 13th Street btw. 9th Ave. and Washington Street). Un'altra istituzione. Consigliatissimo.
7. Le Souk (47 Av. B btw 3 and 4 street). Una sicurezza.
8. BED (Bedny, 27 street btw 10 and 11 Ave.). Sex and the city…
9. Libation (137 Ludlow btw Rivington and Stanton). A rischio.

4. Rivington Hotel (107 Rivington Street btw Ludlow and Essex). Carino.
5. Bua (122 St. Marks Place btw First Ave and Ave A.).

I 5 migliori “ristoranti” dove mangiare a qualsiasi ora, proprio qualsiasi… i tipici 24 hours.

I 2 posti “segreti” della città.

Backroom (104 Norfolk btw Delancey and Rivington). Non si vede. Non si sente. Ma c’é. L’impresa è trovarlo. L’indirizzo è un grande aiuto ma potrebbe non bastare.

Milk and Honey (134 Eldridge st. btw Delancey and Broome). Serve un numero di telefono per riservare. I tavoli sono 8. Il numero è segreto. Se v’interessa ve lo faccio avere.



5 ristoranti cool e trandy dove mangiare bene bene.

1. Café Gitane (242 Mott Steet – Prince-Houston). Marocchino.
2. Café Habana (17 Prince Street- Elizabeth). Cubano.
3. Cafécito (185 Ave C. at 11th Street). Sud Americano generale
4. Pastis (9 Ninth Ave at Little W. 12th St.).
5. Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House (1221 6th Ave at 49th Street). Una steak house come si deve. Urbano ed elegante con delle bistecche mai viste. Preparate il portafoglio.
Tutti posti dove oltre a mangiare è bello guardarsi attorno.

Il Bar che tutti consigliano che io ho trovato scandaloso…

Hotel Gansevoort (18 9 th Ave btw 12 th and 13 th street). Se vi va di bere un gin-martini a 18 dollari in un bicchiere di plastica….




L’hamburger più famoso della città

Corner Bistro (331 W. 4th Street-Jane Street). Per favore ordinate un Corner Burger.


L’italiano con la migliore scelta di vini senza farsi fregare

L’Inoteca (98 Rivington Street-Ludlow). Sono uscito soddisfatto senza nemmeno sentirmi ripp off.

Sushi?

Tomoe (172 Thompson Street at Houston). Semplice e spettacoloso Sushi. C’è sempre la coda. Provateci finché riuscite ad entrare.



Volete un ristorante rumoroso cool?

Schiller’s Liquor Bar (131 Rivington St - Norfolk St.). Lower East Side. Ci piace.
